3 Tips For Being More Eco-Friendly
Being eco-friendly can seem like a very daunting task. Many people may feel that they either have to be entirely environmentally friendly or just not bother at all. This is where they are wrong. Any one individual choice that you make to be more environmentally friendly makes a drastic difference in the world. Something as simple as switching to reusable bags when shopping can make all the difference.
Here are 3 simple tips to become more eco-friendly, without too much hassle.
1.Reusable grocery bags
It’s been said a thousand times, but using reusable grocery bags when shopping can make a drastic difference in the waste you produce. Like many things, this comes with practice. It might take a few times of forgetting your reusable bags at home or in your car, but eventually it will become a part of your routine.
There has been a lot of controversy over what reusable straws are the best. I prefer glass or metal. Do your research and see what works best for you! I carry a few reusable straws in my car and bag so that I’m never without one. I would estimate the number of straws I’ve saved is well in the hundreds by now.
Although it is a bit harder now that we are in a pandemic, shopping in person is better environmentally than ordering online. Especially when you only need a few things, it is so much more eco-friendly to shop at a physical store.
When it comes to grocery shopping, trying to purchase items with less plastic is always a great way to make a small change. It’s not always possible, but making this conscious choice when you can is all that you need to do!
Lastly, really thinking before you buy is arguably the most important factor in being more environmentally friendly. By buying things you don’t really need or won’t really use, you are creating unnecessary waste.
